Mardi Gras

When the Big Easy swings, alligator dances

Mama brings gumbo and the King and Queen are dancing

All the little children are rolling on the floor

The band revs up and we all want more

All the cats are singin', bubbles in the air

Show me what you got, throw me something Mistah!

Now the ambience is kind of down, downtown

Ladies in the Quarter kinda weaving around

It's way too late but I don't care

Purple, yellow, green flyin’ everywhere

Who says I got to leave this party

Too much fun, and we're just getting' started…..

                 Everybody's happy, Hurricanes for all

Jambalaya for lunch, My Lady’s having a ball

Nothing ever changes for the buskers in the street

Sanitation Dept. tries to keep it kind of neat

Its a losing cause

Cause its Mardi Gras

Shoulder to shoulder banging down the block

Too much chaos you can’t talk

Everybody's makin' money, the slots are really loose

Beads raining down on my Lady's sweet caboose

She says she wants to move here, I say I want another beer

Something in the atmosphere, makes me want to be here!

If I gotta leave, you know I'm coming back

Show me what you got, throw me something Mistah!

                 Everybody's happy, Hurricanes for all

Etouffe, My Lady's having a ball

No the Big Easy swings, the Alligator prances

Everything is changing, the King and Queen are dancing

Who says I got to leave this party

I've grown accustomed to bein’ kind of naughty
